This was a particularly fun project to work on. Robert’s songs often talk about his childhood and being a teenager in the early 80s and listening to heavy metal music. He titled this album Split Ends since this was a collection of mostly songs that had never really fit on any of his previous albums and also as a reference to the hair metal of the time. So I got excited about doing some custom lettering that felt like an old hair metal band logo.
